Duties
The Tyler County Sheriff's Tax Office is responsible for:
- The collection of Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes
- Mailing of tax statements in July
- Selling of delinquent Real Estate taxes in Spring
- Renewals for automobile and motorcycle registrations (we do NOT renew boats/utility trailers)
- Collect payment for accident reports
- Collect payment fingerprint and background checks
- Issue pistol permits
Important Dates
July 15 - Taxes mailed outSeptember 1 - Discount period ends for 1st half of taxes due
March 1 - Discount period ends for 2nd half of taxes due
April 30 - Taxes become delinquent if not paid in full
